Nederlands C1 — the level
where correct stops
being the point.
B2 was measured in errors. C1 is measured in choices: which of six verbs for “said”, which particle carries your stance, whether the sentence should be sixty words or four. Fifty-six days on the things nobody corrects for you — collocation, density, register, and the Dutch of teaching, supervision, intervisie and the promotieverdediging.

Say the Dutch out loud from the English before you flip — recognition is not recall. Mark anything you produced correctly but slowly as hard: at a counter, slow is wrong.

Each scene has an outcome: a job, a prescription, a repair, a place in a school. Read your side out loud, then cover the Dutch and rebuild it from the English.
There is no Dutch C1 state exam. Here is what there is instead.
Staatsexamen NT2 tops out at B2 (Programma II), so above it the landscape is small: CNaVT Profiel Academische Taalvaardigheid and Profiel Professionele Taalvaardigheid, university language-centre assessments, and — for a foreign-trained psychologist — the AKV-toets, which is not a CEFR certificate but is the exam that decides whether you may practise. Verify current requirements with CNaVT, DUO and BIG-register/CIBG. Sixteen mock items below. 🎯
C1 opens the lecture hall and the caseload. C2 changes what people assume about you.
With C1 you can teach, chair, supervise, write advice and carry a Dutch-language caseload. C2 is a different claim: that you write Dutch a Dutch reader would be pleased to have written. That is rhythm, phraseology and the discipline of cutting — which is exactly what volume six is.
