Nederlands C2 — the level
where the language
stops being a project.
Nothing you write is wrong any more, and that is the problem. C2 is rhythm, phraseology, allusion and the discipline of brevity: the long sentence jointed carefully, then the short one that carries the judgement. Sixty days on the Dutch of essays, columns, oraties, panels and the two errors you will decide to keep.

Each scene has an outcome: a job, a prescription, a repair, a place in a school. Read your side out loud, then cover the Dutch and rebuild it from the English.
No C2 exam exists in Dutch — which is liberating.
The state system ends at B2 and CNaVT at roughly C1, so at this level the evidence of your Dutch is what you produce: a vakblad article, an opiniestuk, a course you teach in Dutch, a chapter a Dutch peer reviews. One published piece a year outweighs any certificate. If a register or employer still asks for paper, NT2 II plus CNaVT PAT/PPT is the highest widely recognised combination — and for clinical practice the AKV route remains the one that matters. There is no volume seven. There is only use.
From here the language is maintained rather than studied: one phraseme a week, two pages of a Dutch essayist aloud each day, one professional text a month that a Dutch peer will actually read, and one relationship in which English is not available. Keep those four and this level does not decay.
